The film starts with reporters asking a film actor Nazeem Khan if he is in a live-in relationship. He replies that it is his life and he can do whatever he wants to. The film then shifts to Mathura where Vishnu Trivedi, a failing politician who wants a ban on live-in relationships, goes to a local news channel in their town to get his daughter Rashmi an internship so that she doesn’t have to go to Delhi. There, Rashmi is introduced to the channel’s star reporter Vinod “Guddu” Kumar Shukla and his friend Abbas Sheikh.
